The Story
Project Wha?
Project Sketch is a group of two high school students - Ronen Ackerman and Ernie Kwan - from P.A.C.E. Academy. As part of the P.A.C.E. Invaders, we felt it necessary to help with what we do best. Design. This is why we stepped up to create the teams first official web site, to test ourselves on our first big project. When we approached this project in September 2007 we were tricked by how easy it looked. Thinking a couple images, and a few lines of code was going to do it, as weeks of sleepless nights passed we learnt, that “design” is a whole other world.
Mayday
As the first 2 days passed by we knew we needed help from a “web genius”. It was stupid of us to think we could accomplish the site by ourselves, especially since it was our first project. So we decided to look for a cyborg and we didn’t have to look far, one of our team mates - Cory Snider was right there to help. With server, pizza, and our designs in hand; Cory in collaboration with Project Sketch burnt through the site as fast as he could together we were a website power house to be reckoned with.
Home Stretch
By now all three of our sleeping schedules have been manipulated to match China’s, but with the Feb.15th deadline approaching fast, we were desperate to get things done. The base and structure of Pacerobotics.com was finished but content was yet to be put up. Calling in our “textual geniuses” (Vishaal Gupta, Mrs. Yearwood, Justin Hung, Natasha John) they helped us type up a lot of site content and put it on the site. Before you knew it (Feb.14th) we were almost done. Distressed to meet the deadline, we managed to submit the site with un-formated (no columns, no images) text. That night we decided to stay up late and surprisingly finished the site before 12AM.
That is the story, of pacerobotics.com with Project Sketch.
